1. Shah Rukh Khan
The 54-year-old actor had two television roles–one in Fauji and the other in Circus which aired on Doordarshan back in 1989. His movie career started 3 years later with Deewana.
2. Vidya Balan
Before making her debut in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra-Pradeep Sarkar directed Parineeta, Vidya was a popular face on the show, Hum Panch.
Before catapulting to international fame, the Salaam Bombay actor was known for his contributions to TV shows like Chanakya, Chandrakanta, and Bharat Ek Khoj.
4. Sushant Singh Rajput
The late actor was one of the most popular faces on television as well. He started out with Ekta Kapoor’s Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, but started getting recognized when he played Manav in Pavitra Rishta opposite Ankita Lokhande.
5. Ayushmann Khurrana
The 36-year-old actor first appeared on Roadies 2 after which he was a VJ on MTV. Prior to this, he was noticed on the show Channel V: Pop Stars in 2002. Even we didn’t know that!
6. Yami Gautam
The Vicky Donor actress got her first big break with the television series, Chand Ke Paar Chalo after which she worked on the show, Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam before venturing into South Indian movies.
7. Aditya Roy Kapur
Aditya started out his career on Channel V as VJ with shows like Pakao and India’s Hottest with Bruna Abdullah.
8. Madhavan
Before we had noticed the heartthrob, Madhavan was a part of several television shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Ghar Jamai and Saaya before moving to the film industry.
